Artist of the Year 2022 Nominee; OC County Register

March 20, 2022

Within all of Orange, I was one of the 92 students who have been nominated for the 2022 Artist of the Year in handcrafted visual arts by teachers and private instructors at Orange County high schools and arts organizations.

“Samira Mehrinfar is a true artist who puts forth maximum creativity and innovation in all of her artistic endeavors. Never wasting a second of class time, and coming into the classroom during her free time and after school, I delight in watching her work through intricate and thoughtful artistic pieces. Samira has a distinctive artistic voice and amazing technical ability that hand. Her creativity flows from her without effort. She applies sensitivity and originality to every project. Samira is also never afraid to take risks in her work and is always, experimenting and trying new and innovative ways to express her ideas.”  — Karen Carrie, Fairmont Preparatory Academy

Artist of the Year; Fairmont Preparatory Academy

May 27, 2021

I was awarded as the best art student at Fairmont Preparatory Academy! This award fuels my passion to be a constant advocator for art within my school and community (check out the NAHS page for more). In the future, I want to apply art and its principles to influence and guide individuals like me through the challenges in life. Art is a constant expression of the world around us. In an ever-changing world, art is constantly evolving during each generation which reflects the artist, society, culture, and the world. Thus, I would hope to challenge myself in exploring the philosophical aspects of life and portray it in my own understanding as well as an art form.

Scholastic Art and Writing Award: Gold Key

December 11, 2021

Out of the 230,000 entries, I was within the 5–7 percent of national entries that received a Gold Key, which is considered national-level recognition. I submitted an oil painting named Iris, which symbolized the different lights of one's character.
